A downloadable game for Windows

Summary

Heavily inspired by the awesome "We Become What We Behold", "Smile For The Camera" places you in charge of the town square TV screen minutes before Christmas. The town's people had a long hard year, so it's your job to rekindle their passion for the holidays, lighten up their spirits and make sure everyone joins the celebration!

Controls

  • Use left mouse button to take photos of the citizens and place them on the screen. Be careful, for different things on the screen will have different effects on the citizens!
  • Use TAB to switch between photo mode and inspection mode. In inspection mode you can check the mood and current status of each citizen. Not really necessary for successful playthrough, but I already implemented it, so might as well leave it.
  • Use Q/E to speed up or slow down time. Keep in mind that it's not really part of the intended gameplay but rather a cheat/development tool that I've left in the final build totally intentionally for those with little patience. Being a development tool, this mechanic might break a game and I'm not taking responsibility here -_-

Tips

  • Photos of positive conversations between citizens have positive effects on other citizens and vice versa.
  • When the time runs out only those with good enough mood will stick around to celebrate the upcoming holidays! Those with low mood will go home to wallow in loneliness and sadness.
  • People with low mood won't wander around indefinitely — at some point they might have enough and leave early!
  • Don't come in with high expectations — there's only so much I can do on the weekends between two working weeks!

Development team

  • Daatster#7749 — that's me!
